The Durian Perangin Waterfall is one of the well known waterfalls in Langkawi. The waterfall was named after the durian fruit trees that grow in the forested surroundings of the waterfall. Durian Perangin Waterfall is located at the northern slope of Gunung Raya (Mount Raya), at the north eastern side of the island.
Gunung Raya (Mount Raya)
Known as Langkawi’s tallest mountain, Gunung Raya is located almost at the center of the island. The peak offers a scenic view of the island landscapes below, and one can drives (or even hike) up the road to the peak, where there is a lookout tower for the scenery from the above. There used to be a hotel or a spa center but had since being closed and it costs RM 10 to go up to the top of the tower.
