The most crowded beach in Langkawi, Cenang Beach (or Pantai Cenang) is located at the western stretch of the island. Many hotels and restaurants can be seen lining up along the main road of Cenang town.
The Langkawi Rice Garden (or Laman Padi in Malay) is an attraction located in the area of Cenang Beach which features a rice museum, gallery, rice garden, herb garden and a traditional rice village. As part of its programs, the garden usually hosts periodic rice-based food demonstrations, festivities and themed exhibitions. The purpose of the garden is to allow visitors to learn more about rice planting, one of the main agricultural industries of the Kedah state. It is also a nice place to take a stroll and for photography. Its opening hours are 10:00am – 5:00pm every day.
The Underwater World Langkawi is one of the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia. Located in Pantai Cenang (Cenang Beach), the marine park started in August 1995 and is one of the top attractions in the island. Its star attractions are the penguins as well as giant marine creatures.
